Why LeapUp

Why Level 1 passers choose LeapUp for Level 2.

Most candidates don't fail Level 2 for lack of material. They fail for lack of structure, practice and someone to ask. We built the programme around those three gaps.

CFA Institute Prep Provider

Our coaching is built to the standards set by the CFA Institute’s Prep Provider programme, so what you study maps directly to what you're examined on.

Your timetable, on day one

You receive the full annual lecture schedule across all 10 subjects the moment you enrol — so you can plan college, work and revision around it.

A mentor you can reach

One named mentor stays with you through the programme for scheduling, doubts and course correction when a subject isn’t landing.

Practice built like the exam

80–160 questions per subject, topic-wise tests, mixed-subject mini mocks and 8 full-length mocks with performance analysis.

Every lecture, recorded

Missed a session or want a second pass before a mock? Full recordings available on the LMS for the length of your course.

Taught from the desk, not the textbook

Faculty who are expert in equity research, portfolio management and audit teach with live cases, so concepts stick past the exam hall.

Placement assistance

Resume review, mock interviews and career direction support to convert the qualification into an actual finance role.

100% money-back assurance

Attend, practise and sit the exam as prescribed. If you don’t clear, you’re eligible for a full refund. Terms shared upfront, in writing.

Study alongside your degree or job

Weekday and weekend batches, 10–15 hours a week. No career break, no gap year.

Level 1 vs Level 2

What actually changes after Level 1.

Same ten subjects, a very different exam. These are the six shifts that catch Level 1 passers out — and what your preparation has to account for.

Question format

Level 1: 180 standalone multiple-choice questions.

Level 2: 88 questions across 22 vignettes.

Each case study carries four linked questions, so you have to find the relevant data before you can answer anything.

Pace

Level 1: about 90 seconds a question.

Level 2: about 3 minutes a question.

That includes reading a page-long case. Two sessions of 2 hours 12 minutes, 44 questions each.

What is tested

Level 1: knowing the concept and the formula.

Level 2: applying it to a messy situation.

Questions ask you to analyse, value and judge — rarely to simply recall.

Calculation depth

Level 1: one-step calculations.

Level 2: multi-step valuation.

Free cash flow and residual income models, binomial trees, swap and option valuation, pension and consolidation adjustments.

Where the marks sit

Level 1: Quant carries 11–14%.

Level 2: weight moves to asset valuation.

Quant drops to 5–10%, while Equity, Fixed Income, FSA and Portfolio Management each carry 10–15%.

Margin for error

Level 1: one wrong answer costs one mark.

Level 2: one misread vignette can cost four.

Which is why reading discipline is trained as deliberately as the content.

The preparation path

How our CFA Level 2 preparation works — nine stages to exam day.

This is the sequence every LeapUp candidate follows. Nothing is left to “study when you can”.

01

Structured preparation

You get an indicative timetable covering all 10 subjects well in advance, so the whole year is visible before you start.

02

Classroom lectures

Face-to-face sessions at our Mumbai centre with your faculty mentors — questions asked and answered as you go.

03

Lecture recordings

Every classroom session is recorded and uploaded to the LMS, so you can revisit any explanation after class or catch up if you miss one.

04

Practice questions

80–160 questions per subject, written in CFA exam format rather than textbook format.

05

Subject tests

A test at the close of each subject, so gaps surface early instead of during the mocks.

06

Mixed-subject tests & doubt sessions

Mini mocks that cut across subjects, plus dedicated sessions to clear everything before mock season begins.

07

Mock exams

8 full-length mocks in the final 30 days, with analysis of where marks are actually being lost.

08

Exam mentoring

A dedicated guidance session on exam-day strategy, timing and scoring, with your mentor on call.

09

Sit Level 2

Walk in prepared. Clear the exam — or become eligible for the 100% money-back assurance.

Item-set training

How we train you to crack the vignette.

Knowing the syllabus is not enough at Level 2. You need a repeatable way to work through a case under time pressure — and that is a skill we teach on purpose.

01

Item sets from the first subject

Practice is written in vignette format from day one, not saved for mock season — so the format stops feeling new long before the exam.

02

Questions first, case second

You learn to scan the four questions, then read the vignette looking for exactly what they need, instead of absorbing every line.

03

Twelve minutes per item set

Timed drills build the habit of closing a vignette and moving on, so one hard case never eats the session.

04

Valuation, built step by step

Long calculations are broken into a fixed sequence in class, so you can rebuild a model under pressure rather than memorise an answer.

05

Errors sorted by cause

After each subject test and mock we separate concept gaps from misreads and timing slips, because each needs a different fix.

06

A mentor who knows your pattern

Your mentor reviews where your marks are going and adjusts your revision plan with you before the final 30 days.

Which Level 2 window should you sit?

The most common Level 2 mistake is made before studying starts: picking a window that leaves too little time. Here is how to decide.

01

Three windows a year

Level 2 is offered in May, August and November. You can register for the next available window once your Level 1 result is out.

02

Count back six months

Give yourself around six months at 10–15 hours a week. If the nearest window leaves less than that, the next one is usually the better call.

03

Protect the last 30 days

The final month is for 8 full-length mocks and revision, not new material. Your timetable is built backwards from that.

Questions

CFA Level 2 FAQs — eligibility, fees, exam dates and more.

What is the CFA Charter?

The CFA Charter is the professional designation awarded by the CFA Institute (USA), the global body that sets standards in investment management and financial analysis. A charterholder has done three things: passed all three exam levels, accumulated the required relevant work experience, and committed to the Institute’s code of ethics.

How do I earn the Charter?

Pass Levels I, II and III. Complete 4,000 hours (roughly 3–4 years) of relevant investment or finance work experience. Become a member of the CFA Institute and abide by its ethical standards.

The Charter carries weight in portfolio management, equity research, investment banking and asset management.

Can I attempt Level 2 straight after clearing Level 1?

Yes — and most candidates do. You can register for the next available Level 2 window once your Level 1 result is out. Give yourself around 6 months of preparation, since the syllabus depth steps up considerably.

I’m working full-time. Can I still start?

Yes — a large share of candidates are working professionals, and the programme was designed with them in mind. Most study 10–15 hours a week over several months alongside a full-time job. Our weekend batches and full lecture recordings exist for exactly this.

When are the CFA Level 2 exams held?

CFA Level 2 is offered in May, August and November each year. Level 1 runs in February, May, August and November; Level 3 in February and August.

Where are the exam centres in India?

Exams run at Prometric computer-based testing centres across major Indian cities. You choose your preferred city and centre at registration, subject to seat availability in that exam window.

Can non-commerce students take the CFA?

Yes. The CFA Institute doesn’t require a specific academic background. Students from engineering, science, arts or any other stream can enrol as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

How much harder is Level 2 than Level 1?

Level 2 is widely considered the toughest of the three. The format shifts from standalone questions to item sets — vignettes where you read a case and answer linked questions — and the depth on valuation and financial reporting increases sharply. It rewards application over recall, which is exactly what our vignette drilling is built around.

How does the money-back assurance work?

If you meet the attendance, test and mock requirements set out at enrolment and still don’t clear Level 2, you become eligible for a 100% refund. The full terms are shared in writing before you pay — ask your counsellor for the document.
