Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to support our Financial Planning course. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial planning principles, a passion for education, and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. The Teaching Assistant will collaborate closely with the course instructor to enhance the learning experience, provide academic support, and manage course logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Support: Assist students with understanding financial planning concepts,
homework, and projects. Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions as needed.
Course Material Preparation: Help prepare and organize course materials,
including lecture slides, handouts, and assignments. Ensure all materials are up-to-date and accessible to students.
Grading and Feedback: Assist in grading assignments, quizzes, and exams. Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their understanding and performance.
Office Hours: Hold regular office hours to answer student questions, clarify concepts, and provide additional support outside of class time.
Course Administration: Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining the
course website, managing student records, and coordinating communication between students and the instructor.
Research and Development: Conduct research on current trends and developments in financial planning to ensure the course content remains relevant and up-to-date.
Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in education and financial planning to continuously improve teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently pursuing or having completed a degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Economics, or a related field. Advanced coursework or certification in financial planning is preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of financial planning tools, techniques, and software (e.g., Excel, financial planning software). Proficiency in Microsoft Office
and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
Experience: Previous experience as a teaching assistant, tutor, or in a similar
educational role is preferred. Practical experience in financial planning is a plus.

Certifications: Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant
(ChFC), or other relevant certifications.
Practical Experience: Hands-on experience in financial planning or advisory services.
Teaching Experience: Experience in creating educational materials or
conducting workshops and seminars.
